24K: The Glamor of Consumerism has Dulled
I used the 3D software in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create these liquid chrome graphics. I chose to make the text silver instead of gold to emphasize the idea of the cover story: “the glamor of consumerism has dulled,” like gold to silver.
Overall, I focused more on shape than detail in order to create more impactful, modern designs – this can be seen on pg. 19, where I dedicated the entire page to the singular graphic of the face.
The two page length of the inside cover gave me more freedom to experiment with typography. I wanted to emphasize the idea of text as shape instead of text as information, so I kept the cover story explanations on this page very concise.
